João Pedro Comments on His Exclusion from the World Cup

Chelsea star Joao Pedro commented on his exclusion from the Brazilian national team squad for the World Cup this summer, stating that he gave his all during the past period but did not succeed in achieving his dream of representing his country in the major tournament.

Pedro said on his Instagram account: "I tried to give my best at all times, and unfortunately, it wasn't possible to achieve this dream of representing my country in the World Cup. But I remain calm and focused, as I always try to be."

The player concluded: "Joys and disappointments are part of football, and from now on I wish everyone there the best of luck. I will just be another fan cheering them on to bring the sixth title home."

In a related context, Chelsea Football Club announced the selection of Joao Pedro as the team's best player of the season based on fan votes, in recognition of his outstanding performances throughout the season.

From his side, coach Carlo Ancelotti commented on the exclusion decision saying: "We are very sorry for João Pedro, because considering the season he had in Europe, he deserved to be on the list. However, unfortunately and with full respect, we chose another player."
