Nasri: Today the choice between France and Algeria has become complicated

The former French international star, Samir Nasri, opened the file on dual-nationality players and the difficult choice between representing the Algerian and French national teams, affirming that the circumstances have completely changed in recent years in favor of the "Desert Warriors."

The former Olympique Marseille and Manchester City star said in his statements: "I never considered representing the Algerian national team during the early days of my football career, and the image of the team at that time was not what it is today."

Nasri added in the same context: "The situation has changed drastically over the years, especially after the phase when Vahid Halilhodžić led the Algerian national team, as Algeria now has a respectable sports project and a strong image both continentally and internationally."

At the end of his speech, the former star gave advice to rising talents, saying: "Today, if I were in the place of Maghnes Akliouche or Rayan Cherki, I would ask myself the question of France or Algeria, because things are not as they used to be."

These statements come at a time when the sports rivalry between the Algerian and French football federations is intensifying to attract dual-national young talents, amid a noticeable increase in the number of players who now prefer to represent their country of origin at an early age.
