A Severe Crisis Faces Zamalek After Confederation Loss
The journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed a significant crisis facing Zamalek after losing the African Confederation Cup title yesterday, Saturday, against the Algerian team USM Alger.
In a radio statement, Shobier said: "Zamalek was hoping to receive 4 million dollars to resolve the registration suspension issue, but that did not happen. A backup plan must be found, and as far as I know, the only person financially assisting Zamalek is Mamdouh Abbas, the honorary president of Zamalek."
He continued: "There must be an answer within Zamalek on how to resolve the registration suspension, and there are talks about communications with CAF to obtain a deferment for payment to secure the license."
He clarified: "There is no clear plan yet that reveals how Zamalek will resolve the registration crisis, and the amount must be paid whether they participate in the Champions League or the Confederation Cup because they will not receive the African license."
