Officially.. Højlund Will Remain Permanently at Napoli
Napoli has officially completed the signing of Danish striker Rasmus Højlund from Manchester United, following the team's qualification for the next season's UEFA Champions League.
Højlund joined Napoli last summer on loan for 6 million euros, with an option to purchase that becomes mandatory if the team qualifies for the Champions League, which was achieved after Napoli's 3-0 victory over Pisa.
Under the agreement, Napoli will pay an additional 44 million euros to permanently acquire the player, bringing the total deal to 50 million euros.
The Danish striker had an outstanding season with Napoli, scoring 15 goals in 44 matches across all competitions. He played over 3,400 minutes and was the only available out-and-out striker for the team for long periods of the season.
Højlund scored a goal in the recent victory against Pisa, contributing to Napoli securing their qualification for the Champions League with one round remaining in the season.
