Saturday 16-05-2026
AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed in the press conference before the match against Genoa in the penultimate round of the Italian league that Croatian star Luka Modric will be available to participate after recovering and trying out the protective mask during training, noting that the final decision regarding his participation will be made on the day of the match scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand, Samuel Ricci is suffering from an ankle injury and will be on the team list with his condition being assessed on the morning of the match.

Regarding the lineup, Allegri explained that the team will rely on Christopher Nkunku and Christian Pulisic on the wings, while Santiago Gimenez will start as the main striker.

He also pointed to strong competition in the midfield between Gjasula and Fofana for the available spots, confirming that Adrien Rabiot will start as a key player.

As for the controversy surrounding his disagreement with Zlatan Ibrahimović, Allegri downplayed the matter, confirming that such discussions naturally occur within any sports institution, saying he has been accustomed to bigger disagreements during his career, and that the most important thing is to work in the interest of Milan. He emphasized that the priority is always the team's interest and not any personal disagreements.

Regarding the administrative side and his future with the club, Allegri defended Igli Tare, confirming that he is in harmony with him and considers him a professional person, stressing the need to unify work within the club away from names and egos. He also pointed out that club president Gerry Cardinale has shown his support for him, explaining that Milan must remain at the forefront and that everyone is transient while the club always remains the most important.
