Ajax Amsterdam has entered the race to sign German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen as part of the Dutch club's plan to strengthen the goalkeeping position for the next season, according to "Voetbal International."

Ajax Club is working on signing an experienced goalkeeper to strengthen the goalkeeping position for the next season.

The newspaper indicated that Ajax's management is also monitoring goalkeeper Iñaki Peña, who is on loan from Barcelona to Elche, as part of the list of candidates to strengthen the goalkeeper position.

The Dutch club's list of interests also includes goalkeeper Mark Flekken, a player from Bayer Leverkusen, as Jordi Cruyff is keen on signing a goalkeeper with extensive experience for the new season.

Marc-André ter Stegen and Iñaki Peña are expected to return to Barcelona following the end of their loan spells with Girona and Elche at the end of the current season, but their future with the Catalan club remains undecided as of now.

The same source confirmed that Hans Flick and Deco are planning for the next season without relying on the duo, while Barcelona is considering the possibility of selling the players or loaning them out again.

On the other hand, Barcelona currently relies on Juan Garcia and Szczesny for goalkeeping duties, and the club is considering the possibility of signing Alex Remiro, Real Sociedad's goalkeeper, for the next season.
