Imam Ashour's Stance on Renewing His Contract with Al-Ahly

The renowned media personality Ahmed Shobeir denied recent rumors about Al Ahly star Imam Ashour's desire to be on par with major stars like Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet.

In statements on his program on "Al-Nahar" channel, Shobier said: "According to a source in Al Ahly, Imam Ashour did not request to be equated with Trezeguet and Zizo. He knows his own value and worth, and Al Ahly club also recognizes the player's value."

He added: "Imam sent a message to the officials at Al Ahly club saying that he is fully prepared to sit down and discuss renewal negotiations, and not with the figures that people are talking about."

Shobier confirmed: "Al-Ahly might talk to Imam about renewing his contract, but not right now at all, because the main focus at the Red Castle is on two players, Hussein El-Shahat and Ahmed Nabil Kouka, due to their contracts nearing expiration at the end of the current season."
