Flick to Hold Individual Meetings to Decide Future of Some Players

Barcelona continues to work on shaping its new project for the 2026/2027 season, with the administration eager to finalize the basic foundations before the transfer market gets busy with the World Cup atmosphere.

Flick relies on a group of players who form the core of the team, some of whom have gained full confidence and have been placed on the non-transferable list, while the future of another group remains unclear, either due to the need to achieve financial balance through some sales or due to their limited participation during the season.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo,' the German coach intends to hold individual meetings with several players, each case separately, to clarify his technical vision and short-term expectations, allowing them to make decisions while they are under existing contracts.

This list includes names like Jules Koundé, Ronald Araújo, and Alejandro Balde, alongside Rony Bardghji.

Koundé ended the season with a less stable performance compared to the previous season, with an internal club conviction that the right-back position is one of the areas needing reinforcement.

As for Araújo's case, it carries a special character, especially after not participating in the Alavés match despite its lack of competitive importance, a match that witnessed Álvaro Cortés' first appearance. Conversely, Balde's role declined after the team relied on João Cancelo in his position, with Gerard Martin being established as the left central defender.

Rony Bardghji's situation also remains unresolved, although Flick had considered him a potential option to be a substitute for Lamine Yamal. However, the Swedish winger did not get many opportunities and was absent from participating in El Clásico, where the technical staff preferred to rely on Marcus Rashford in that match.
