Doubts Return About Araujo's Future with Barcelona

The Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo is experiencing uncertainty about his future with Barcelona, amid anticipation of his status during the upcoming summer transfer period, despite his status within the team's dressing room.

The Spanish newspaper 'AS' reported that the defender is considered an important and exemplary figure within the team and is appreciated by the coach Hans Flick. However, at the same time, he realizes that he does not guarantee a starting place, which makes his future uncertain.

Flick sees Araujo as a positive model within the group, but his technical choices tend to rely on Pau Cubarsi and Eric Garcia, making it difficult to find a consistent role for the Uruguayan defender in the starting lineup.

Conversely, the player feels the need to gain more playing time, which opens the door to thinking about his future, especially with the possibility of being redeployed as a right-back, even though it is not his preferred position.

This season witnessed an important turning point in his career, after he decided to pause temporarily following his red card incident at Stamford Bridge to focus on his mental health, a step that had a clear impact on his trajectory in the past period.

Araujo returned after an absence of almost a month and a half, participating in a number of matches, but started only in three matches against Rayo Vallecano, Espanyol, and Albacete in the Copa del Rey.

Despite his limited participation, he managed to score influential goals, including his goal against Girona in the last moments 2-1, and his goal against Rayo Vallecano 1-0, in addition to another goal against Albacete.
