Al Ahly Moves to Secure Mostafa Shobeir

Thursday 14-05-2026
Al-Ahly Club has settled on a new step regarding the future of its goalkeeper, Mostafa Shobeir, after the management decided to amend and extend the player's contract, given the strong performances he has been delivering with the team recently.

According to press reports, Al-Ahly is planning to initiate contract extension procedures after the current season ends, as Shobier has become one of the key players in the team. There is also a complete conviction within the club of the necessity to retain him and not let him go in the coming years.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper's contract with Al-Ahly extends until the summer of 2027, which grants him the right to negotiate with any club starting from next January without referring back to Al-Ahly's management. This prompted the club to act early to secure his continuation.

Mostafa Shobeir played 69 matches for Al Ahly in various tournaments, during which he conceded 44 goals and kept 37 clean sheets. He also won 16 titles with the Red team.

During the current season, the international goalkeeper participated in 19 matches across various competitions, conceding 17 goals and achieving clean sheets in 7 encounters.

At the international level, Shobeir has 8 appearances for the Egyptian national team, with his last appearance being in a friendly match against Spain, which ended in a goalless draw.

Al Ahly is preparing to conclude its journey in the Egyptian League with a match against Al Masry next Wednesday as part of the final round of the competition.
