Flick Decides on Ter Stegen's Continuation with Barcelona

The German Hans Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, has made his stance clear regarding his compatriot, goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, according to British press reports, at a time when uncertainty about the player's future at the Catalan club is increasing.

According to "The Athletic," Flick does not see the 34-year-old goalkeeper as part of his long-term project with Barcelona. However, resolving this matter will not be easy at all due to several complex factors.

One of the main challenges is that Ter Stegen is still under contract for an additional two years and is among the highest-paid players on the team, which complicates any potential plan to remove him from the club's ranks.

The German goalkeeper is scheduled to return to Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer window, after the end of his loan period to Girona, which did not go as expected due to a series of injuries.

Ter Stegen suffered a severe hamstring injury in only his third match with Girona, increasing concerns, especially after a previous serious knee injury he sustained last season, which significantly affected his performance continuity recently.
