Thursday 14-05-2026
The Union of European Football Associations imposed a financial fine on Barcelona Club amounting to 22,500 euros, following incidents in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Atletico Madrid, which took place at the Metropolitano Stadium on April 14 and ended with Barcelona winning 2-1. However, this was not enough to overcome the 2-0 loss in the first leg in Barcelona.

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee announced the penalties for the quarter-final and semi-final stages of the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League, and the Conference League, which included the penalty imposed on the Catalan club.

The fine was divided into two parts, with 20,000 euros due to Barcelona players delaying their return to the field at the start of the second half, known as a delay in the start of play, a violation the Union of European Football Associations deals with strictly.

An additional fine of 2,500 euros was imposed due to fireworks being set off in the area of the Catalan club's fans during the match.
