Yamal Tops the Best Dribblers in Europe

Thursday 14-05-2026
Lamine Yamal continues to affirm his status as one of the most skilled players in European football, having topped the list of players with the most successful dribbles in major leagues this season, despite missing the last four matches due to injury.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that the young Barcelona star leads the ranking with 277 successful dribbles across various competitions, surpassing prominent names like Michael Olise, Jeremy Doku, Vinicius Junior, and Bukayo Saka. The player wearing the number 10 jersey at Barcelona is seen as the natural extension of Lionel Messi and Neymar's style in the ability to bypass defenders and make a difference with individual skill.

Yamal's superiority is not limited to the current season, as he also finished last season as the most successful dribbler at the club level, recording 349 dribbles, significantly ahead of Vinicius, who achieved 255 dribbles, followed by Jeremy Doku with 232, Michael Olise with 210, Nico Williams with 201, and Kylian Mbappe with 173 successful dribbles.

Despite Yamal's continued lead during the 2025/2026 season, there is still a chance for Jeremy Doku to snatch the first place. The Manchester City winger needs to complete 25 successful dribbles during his team's remaining three matches, including two in the Premier League and the FA Cup final, to surpass the Barcelona player in this statistic.

This figure reflects the consistency Yamal offers, given the significant difficulty opponents face in limiting his individual threat. The Barcelona forward has also established himself as one of the top names on the list of players with the most dribbles this season, whether in La Liga or the UEFA Champions League.

Yamal recorded 16 successful dribbles in the matches against Real Sociedad and Levante, securing the first and second positions in this statistic. He also entered the tenth position after achieving 10 successful dribbles against Villarreal. In contrast, Vinicius appeared three times among the top ten players with the most dribbles in a single match in La Liga this season but remained far from the numbers of the Barcelona star.

Lamine Yamal is close to writing his name in La Liga history, appearing twice in the list of players with the most dribbles in a single match since the 2015/2016 season, thanks to his figures against Real Sociedad and Levante. Lionel Messi tops the list with 19 successful dribbles against Deportivo in 2015, while Neymar occupies the second, fourth, sixth, and tenth positions, along with other names like Isco.
