Officially: Real Madrid Announces the Start of the Electoral Process

Real Madrid has officially announced the start of the electoral process for selecting a new president and board of directors for the club, following the decision of the election committee, in accordance with Article 38 of the club's bylaws.

The official statement confirmed that the nomination for the presidency of Real Madrid will open from May 14 until May 23, 2026, with each candidate list to be announced and approved the day after submission.

The club also explained that appeals against the acceptance or rejection of any candidacy must be submitted within two days from the date of the decision announcement, according to the approved electoral regulations.

The statement indicated that if more than one candidate comes forward, the date and place for holding the elections will be officially determined later by the election committee.

Club members will be able to vote by mail, under the conditions specified in the electoral regulations, and members can check their names in the electoral register during the period from May 14 to May 18, either through the members' electronic platform or through the club's member service offices.

This step comes after Florentino Pérez announced the call for new elections, following a difficult season the club experienced on both the sports and administrative levels, amid great anticipation for what the next phase will bring within the royal club.
