Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal denied the accuracy of reports linking him to running for the presidency of Real Madrid in the upcoming period, following the club's announcement of a call for new presidential elections.

Nadal wrote on his official account on the X platform: "I read information linking me to potential candidacies for the presidency of Real Madrid, and I would like to clarify that this information is not true."

Current club president Florentino Perez announced during a press conference yesterday the call for new presidential elections, amid the difficult season the royal club is experiencing on both the sporting and administrative levels.

Perez is expected to run for a new term, with expectations of receiving broad support from the board, despite reports suggesting that Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme might enter the race.

Predictions also indicate that Real Madrid may witness many changes during the upcoming summer transfer window, whether at the squad level or the technical staff, with Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho being nominated to lead the team from the beginning of the next season.
