CAF Threatens Zamalek with Disciplinary Sanctions

Wednesday 13-05-2026
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir issued a warning to Zamalek Club ahead of the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final against Algeria's USM Alger, scheduled for next Saturday.

In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "The Confederation of African Football warned Zamalek of disciplinary sanctions if they do not comply with the protocol tickets for the final match."

He added: "CAF sent requests twice asking Zamalek to send the tickets allocated for CAF guests and requested them to be sent within 24 hours, which are the 350 tickets. The delay from Zamalek might be due to a ticketing issue."

He continued: "CAF and FIFA do not take protocol lightly, and I hope the Zamalek board resolves the issue and avoids a conflict with the African Federation."

The match between Zamalek and USM Alger will kick off at 9:00 PM Cairo and Mecca time.

The first leg of the match ended with the Algerian team winning 1-0.
