Conceição Reveals Behind the Scenes of His Experience with Milan

The Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição opened up during his interview with the newspaper "La Repubblica," talking about his previous experience with Milan and the immense pressure he faced within one of Europe's biggest clubs.

Conceição emphasized that coaching Milan is not an easy task, saying: "It's not easy to be a coach for Milan; it is a club that has historically been accustomed to playing at the highest level and winning Champions League finals."

The Portuguese coach added that the atmosphere within the club changed quickly despite winning the Super Cup, explaining: "After winning the Super Cup, the draw with Cagliari was enough to start rumors about who would take my place, and the worst part is that no one denied those talks."

Conceição also spoke about the leadership figures within AC Milan's dressing room, praising the duo Christian Pulisic and Matteo Gabbia, affirming that they were exemplary both on and off the field, in terms of behavior and commitment.

The Portuguese coach also commented on the famous scene where he was seen smoking a cigar after the victory in Riyadh, saying: "I always do that after every title in my career. I didn't want to put on a special show, it was just natural for me."

Conceição touched on his experience with Italian football, noting that he lived through a period when the Italian league was the best in the world. He added that coaching in Italy provided him with a lot of experience and helped him develop.

He concluded his speech by highlighting the successes he achieved throughout his career, asserting that he managed to win numerous championships such as the league, cups, and both local and European super cups. However, he admitted that the UEFA Champions League remained the dream that eluded his coaching career.
