French Authorities Reject Paris Saint-Germain's League Title Celebration

Tuesday 12-05-2026
The security authorities in the French capital, Paris, have refused to grant Paris Saint-Germain the green light to hold celebrations for winning the French league title inside the "Parc des Princes" stadium next Sunday evening, despite the team being close to officially securing the title.

According to the French newspaper "L'Équipe," Paris Saint-Germain was planning to organize a large fan celebration following their match against Paris FC in the final round of the season, which will take place at the Jean Bouin Stadium adjacent to the "Parc des Princes."

The Parisian club is just a few steps away from clinching the French league title for the 2025-2026 season, having strengthened its lead by six points over its pursuer Lens, in addition to a significant goal difference advantage of 15 goals, with only two rounds remaining in the competition.

The reports indicated that the management of Paris Saint-Germain submitted an official request to hold the celebration ceremony inside the Parc des Princes stadium with a large audience in attendance. However, the police in Paris rejected the request for security and organizational reasons.

The newspaper added that the timing of the match, which is expected to end around eleven in the evening, was among the main reasons behind the decision, in addition to the difficulty of securing the surroundings of both Jean Bouin and Parc des Princes stadiums at the same time.

Paris Saint-Germain is eagerly awaiting to officially secure the title in the upcoming rounds, amidst special preparations to celebrate the championship, despite the security restrictions imposed by the French authorities.
