Moamen Soliman Defends Himself After Al-Jawiya and Al-Shorta Fans' Criticism
Al-Karma coach Moamen Soliman sent a direct message to Al-Shorta and Al-Jawiya fans after leading his team to a 3-0 victory over the league leaders in the 34th round of the Iraqi Stars League, emphasizing that his sole aim is to perform his job professionally, away from any other considerations.
Soliman recently took over coaching Al-Karma after mutually terminating his contract with Al-Shorta due to fluctuating results, which sparked angry reactions from some 'Qithara' fans. He also faced criticism from Al-Jawiya fans following the defeat that reduced the lead to 4 points with three rounds remaining.
The Egyptian coach stressed that he holds no grudge against Al-Jawiya club or its fans, noting that the last title the team achieved was under his leadership, which is a source of pride for him.
He stated that the honor of the game is more important than any temporary allegiance, affirming that he performs his duty with Al-Karma just as he did previously with other clubs. He added that his current contract is solely tied to the Al-Karma emblem, and his responsibility is limited to giving his best to the team that provides him the opportunity to work.
Soliman explained that he took on the role at a sensitive time when the team was suffering from physical and mental fatigue due to the season's pressure, changes in technical staff, and fluctuating results.
Nevertheless, he praised the players' spirit and tactical commitment, affirming that what they presented against the leaders was not easy given the limited options available to him.
He pointed out that commitment and discipline on the field were the keys to superiority, and the current group possesses elements capable of delivering outstanding performances if the right conditions are met.
The victory over Al-Jawiya reignited the title race, as the gap between the leader and its pursuer Al-Shorta narrowed to just 4 points before the decisive rounds.
