Officially.. Borussia Dortmund Signs Johan Jadow
Borussia Dortmund officially announced the signing of young French defender Johan Gado from Red Bull Salzburg on a contract extending until the summer of 2031.
Dortmund's management confirmed that the 19-year-old player had been under observation for a long time, especially since his days at the Paris Saint-Germain academy. Club official Lars Ricken explained that Dortmund sees Jado as a potential major defender capable of playing an important role with the team starting from the next season.
The French defender progressed through the Paris Saint-Germain academy and won the French Under-19 league title with the youth team in 2024, before moving to Salzburg in September of the same year. Jado played 58 official matches with the Austrian team, participated in the UEFA Youth League, and also appeared with the Liefering reserve team.
For his part, sporting director Ole Bok described the player as a "modern center-back" with great physical strength, high speed, and a distinctive ability to build play from the back, emphasizing that Jado is a perfect addition to Dortmund's defense.
The French player expressed his great happiness at joining the "Dortmund family," affirming his excitement to wear the yellow and black jersey and achieve success with the club's fans.
