Mourinho Evades on Continuing with Benfica

The Portuguese coach José Mourinho has sparked further speculation about his future with Benfica, amid increasing reports linking him to taking over as the coach of Real Madrid starting next season.

During the press conference, Mourinho was asked about the possibility of renewing his contract with Benfica, after he confirmed last March his desire to continue and respect his contract, even expressing his readiness to sign any extension offer without hesitation.

The Portuguese coach responded by saying: "What I said in March was in March, but now I will be able to talk about my future on Monday," in a statement that opened the door to the possibility of his departure at the end of the current season.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid has entered advanced negotiations with Mourinho to succeed coach Álvaro Arbeloa as the head of the team's technical staff.

Mourinho is expected to lead his team, Benfica, in their final match of the season against Estoril Praia next Saturday, as part of the closing round of the Portuguese league.
