Real Madrid Club announced that French left-back Ferland Mendy has undergone successful surgery following a recent injury.
Mendy suffered a severe injury during his participation in the match between Real Madrid and Espanyol, which forced him to leave the field, and Fran Garcia replaced him.
Real Madrid had previously clarified in an official statement that medical examinations revealed the player had suffered a tear in the rectus femoris tendon in his right leg.
The Royal Club stated in an official announcement: "Our player Ferland Mendy underwent a successful surgery today, under the supervision of Real Madrid's medical services, to treat an injury in the right anterior thigh muscle."
The statement added: "Mendy will begin his recovery program in the coming days."
