Details of Flick's New Contract with Barcelona and the Official Signing Date

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' revealed that FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with German coach Hans Flick to renew his contract, following meetings between his agent Pini Zahavi, the club's sporting director Deco, and club president Joan Laporta.

According to the newspaper, the agreement stipulates extending Flick's contract officially until 2028, after the current contract was set to expire in 2027, with an optional clause to extend the contract until 2029 if specific objectives are achieved.

The report explained that Zahavi and Deco finalized the agreement's foundations during today's meeting, after a series of previous meetings, while interim club president Rafa Yuste confirmed during the league championship celebrations that renewing Flick's contract would be easy, noting the German coach's happiness in Barcelona and his adaptation to the club's atmosphere.

Since last April, Barcelona has been seeking to extend Flick's contract for an additional year with an option for another year, which has already been agreed upon, making the coach's contract extend until 2028 with the possibility of continuing until 2029.

Despite the complete agreement between the two parties, the official signing will not happen immediately, as Flick wishes to focus on the sporting aspect during the current period, especially with the team's pursuit of reaching 100 points and 100 goals this season, as Barcelona currently has 91 points and 91 goals with three rounds remaining in the league.

The Spanish newspaper also indicated that contract signing may take place after the official end of the season or with the start of Joan Laporta's new board term at the beginning of July, after all terms have been agreed upon by both parties.
