Question Marks.. Mbappe Ignites Atmosphere at Real Madrid Before the End

Monday 11-05-2026
Frenchman Kylian Mbappe has sparked further controversy within the corridors of Real Madrid, after appearing in team training at Valdebebas on a day off granted by the coaching staff to the players, at a time when question marks are increasing about his future and the possibility of his participation in the remainder of the season.

Real Madrid has only three matches left before the season concludes, against Real Oviedo, Sevilla, and Athletic Bilbao, amid reports suggesting that Mbappe might miss all these encounters.

Coach Álvaro Arbeloa had given Real Madrid players a day off on Monday, following the loss in El Clasico against Barcelona, before the team began preparations for the next match at the Santiago Bernabéu.

In a notable development, Mbappe posted a picture on his social media accounts while at training, which intensified the debate about his status within the team, amidst noticeable tension with Real Madrid fans recently.

These charged atmospheres come after a series of controversial events, most notably his absence from El Clasico due to injury despite participating in some training sessions, along with his trip to Italy with his partner Ester Expósito during the recovery period, which was widely criticized.

Mbappe also faced additional criticism after posting an Instagram story during El Clasico, showing him supporting the team despite being 2-0 down against Barcelona, which some considered inappropriate behavior at that moment.

For his part, Álvaro Arbeloa opened the door to all possibilities regarding the player's participation, confirming that the decision will be determined by his physical condition, saying: “Two weeks remain, and depending on his progress, we'll see if he can play or not. I wished he would be 100% ready and participate from the start, that’s what I hoped for.”

The coach added that Mbappe's position in the remaining three matches against Real Oviedo, Sevilla, and Athletic Bilbao will remain dependent on the development of his physical condition in the coming days.
