Cancelo Attacks Al-Hilal While Celebrating with Barcelona

The Portuguese full-back João Cancelo sparked widespread controversy after his fiery statements towards Al Hilal club, asserting that he faced an unexpected situation during his time with the team, while he is currently experiencing new moments of success in Europe.

The player revealed in his media interview that one of the Al-Hilal officials promised him participation in the local squad, only to be surprised later by his exclusion without those promises being fulfilled.

The decision to exclude him came after he suffered a muscle injury, removing him from the plans of coach Simone Inzaghi, who preferred to register Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo in the league squad instead.

On the other hand, Cancelo confirmed that he moved past that stage quickly, emphasizing his full focus on his current team, expressing his great happiness with winning the Spanish League title.

The player was crowned with the title after Barcelona's victory over Real Madrid in El Clásico, adding a new achievement to his career filled with titles in various major European leagues.

Cancelo became the first player to win the league title in four major European leagues, having previously won in England, Germany, and Italy, before adding Spain to his record.

During his loan period with Barcelona, the player delivered impressive performances, participating in 20 matches, scoring one goal, and assisting three goals, thereby affirming his significant technical value.

Cancelo is under contract with Al Hilal until the summer of 2027, which opens the door to various possibilities regarding his future in the coming period, given his current European performance.
