Real Madrid Nears Securing Qualification for the Spanish Super Cup

The Spanish newspaper 'AS' confirmed that Real Madrid club still has a goal this season, despite being out of the race for all championships, which is to ensure qualification for the Spanish Super Cup next season.

According to the newspaper, Real Madrid needs to finish the season in second place in the standings to secure a qualification spot for the tournament, with three matches remaining for the team this season.

The same source indicated that the team is currently eight points ahead of Villarreal, who are in third place, meaning Real Madrid needs just one point from its matches against Oviedo, Athletic Bilbao, and Sevilla, or Villarreal's stumble in any of its remaining matches.

The newspaper added that Real Madrid's absence from the Spanish Super Cup will only happen if it loses all three of its matches, while Villarreal wins all of its remaining matches.

The newspaper also explained that Real Madrid aims to secure qualification officially during the upcoming match against Oviedo at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, amid expectations of a low turnout due to the timing of the match and the fans' discontent after the team ended the season without titles.
