Media reports have discussed the possibility of FC Barcelona achieving a new record in its history of encounters with Real Madrid in terms of the points gap in the Spanish league.

According to what was published by "Sport" newspaper, Barcelona has the opportunity to extend their lead to 14 points ahead of Real Madrid, with only 9 points remaining available until the end of the season.

This comes in light of the anticipated El Clasico match scheduled for today, Sunday, at 10 PM Cairo time at Spotify Camp Nou. A victory could give Barcelona the chance to widen the gap with their traditional rival, as well as potentially achieve one of the largest historical point differences in the remaining three rounds.

The source pointed out that Barcelona's current record against Real Madrid in La Liga dates back to the 2018/2019 season under the leadership of Ernesto Valverde, when Barcelona won the title with a 19-point lead over Real Madrid, which went through a period of several technical changes.
