The newspaper Mundo Deportivo revealed that Barcelona is on the verge of officially securing the Spanish league title, as they might mathematically clinch the title during the anticipated El Clasico match against Real Madrid.

The newspaper explained that the royal team only has the option to win in order to delay Barcelona's coronation, while any other result would mean the Catalan club officially wins the title on their home ground and among their fans.

Barcelona will host their traditional rival Real Madrid on Sunday evening at Camp Nou, as part of the 35th round of the Spanish league, in a match that kicks off at 10 PM Mecca time.

The first-leg encounter between the two teams ended with Real Madrid winning 2-1 against Barcelona in the opening match of the competition.

The match is expected to be broadcast on beIN Sports 1, with commentary by Ali Saeed Al Kaabi.
