Gravenberch: We Feel Disappointed, and Our Season Wasn't Special
Saturday 09-05-2026
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch appeared in a press conference following the 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the 36th round of the English Premier League, at Anfield.

The player said, "Yes, of course, we are disappointed that we have to share the points. We were aiming for a win, but it's clear they are a very strong team and play well here, so I think in the end they deserve a point too."

He added, "We created chances, including two through Dom [Szoboszlai]. If we had a bit of luck, those chances could have gone in. In the end, we weren't successful, so we feel a bit disappointed."

Regarding the fans' reaction after the final whistle: "Honestly, we need their support. It's true that we didn't win, but I don't think we deserved that reaction. The fans should support us throughout the ninety minutes because when they supported us in the second half, we were pressing hard. We need them. We hope they won't repeat that in the next two games."

On playing with his teammate Ryo Ngomouha: "It's really amazing." He's only 17 years old, yet we've all seen how he plays. When he has the ball, he doesn't hesitate to take on any player one-on-one. He's a great player. I hope he continues like this.

As for his opinion on this season in general, he concluded: "It hasn't been a remarkable season for us. We still have two matches left, so we need to strive to win them to ensure our qualification for the Champions League."
