Olympique Marseille decided to exclude their veteran Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the squad that will face Le Havre on Sunday in the French league, following a controversial incident that occurred within the team's camp.

According to L'Équipe, Aubameyang emptied a full fire extinguisher inside a club official's room, covering the bed and the administrator's belongings with the extinguisher's contents, in an attempt to execute a "comedic prank" aimed at lightening the atmosphere within the team and lifting the players out of the frustration they were experiencing due to declining results.

The management of Marseille did not treat the incident lightly and considered what happened to be unacceptable behavior, representing chaos within the camp. They decided to punish the player and exclude him from the upcoming match, at a time when the club is experiencing a very sensitive period in terms of results and ambitions.

Marseille is experiencing a significant decline this season in the race for European qualification, as the team is 7 points away from the Champions League spots.
