The Spanish radio station 'Cadena SER' revealed that the former coach of Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso, feels relieved not to have to deal with the crises and tensions that erupted within Real Madrid over the last 48 hours.

According to the report, Alonso admitted to his close circle that accepting to coach Real Madrid last summer was a 'mistake,' given the tense atmosphere the club is experiencing this season.

Real Madrid decided to dismiss Alonso last January, following the loss of the Spanish Super Cup title to Barcelona, a decision that cast a shadow over Real Madrid in all respects this season.

These reports come amid significant tension in the Real Madrid dressing room in recent weeks, after a series of disputes and altercations between some players, in addition to tension between the players and the coaching staff as well.

The royal club is working on contracting a new coach with the impending departure of Álvaro Arbeloa at the end of the current season, with Portuguese coach José Mourinho being the top candidate for this role.
