British and Uruguayan media reports have revealed that the journey of Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez with Al Hilal is nearing its end, amid negotiations between the two parties to terminate the contract by mutual consent in the coming period.

British radio station TalkSport reported that Núñez had requested to leave Al-Hilal during the last winter transfer window, following the club's signing of French player Karim Benzema, noting that the player is still determined to leave the team.

The Uruguayan newspaper El Observador explained that there is a preliminary understanding between Al Hilal's management and the Uruguayan striker regarding the possibility of his departure during the upcoming summer transfer window, with a mutual desire to settle the matter amicably.

According to reports, Núñez is attracting interest from several European clubs, benefiting from his previous experience with Liverpool, before his move to Al Hilal in the summer of 2025 on a three-year contract.

On the digital front, Núñez participated in 16 matches with Al-Hilal in the Saudi Roshn League, during which he scored 6 goals and assisted 4 others, before being excluded from the domestic roster while continuing to participate in Asian tournaments.

The Uruguayan striker's last appearance with Al Hilal was against Al Wahda of the UAE in the AFC Champions League for the elite, where he managed to score the two winning goals for his team. This notable performance might be his last in the Saudi team's jersey.
