Al-Zawraa Club clinched the capital's derby in its favor with a clean goal at the expense of Al-Talaba, in the match that brought the two teams together this evening at the International City Stadium, as part of the 33rd round of the Iraq Stars League.

Al-Zawraa entered the match with a high fighting spirit and managed to impose its control from the beginning. In the 25th minute, relief came through Hassan Abdul Karim, who scored the only winning goal for Al-Zawraa, giving his team an early advantage against their traditional rival.

The goal ignited the enthusiasm of the 'Nawras' (The Seagulls), making them play with greater confidence in the rest of the match, while Al-Talaba tried to return quickly but to no avail.

Al-Zawraa almost extended their lead in the 71st minute through Murad Mohammed, but the referee decided to cancel the goal due to offside, keeping the score unchanged and increasing the excitement of the final minutes.

Al-Talaba pressed hard in the last quarter-hour in search of an equalizing goal, but Al-Zawraa's defense was solid, and the goalkeeper saved all attempts, allowing the 'Nawras' to emerge with the full match points.

With this victory, Al-Zawraa raised its tally to 62 points, advancing to fourth place in the standings, taking an important step towards securing a spot in the top four.

On the other hand, Al-Talaba fell to fifth place with 61 points, after losing the chance to reclaim fourth place in one of the most important matches of the season.
