Inter Milan Sets Transfer Market Budget
Tuesday 05-05-2026
The newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reported that the owners of Inter Milan have allocated a budget ranging from 40 to 50 million euros for the summer transfer window, with the possibility of increasing it if some players are sold, notably Alessandro Bastoni.

According to the newspaper, the club's management has started preparing for the 2026/2027 season after winning the Italian league title for the twenty-first time this season.

The same source explained that the Oaktree group, which owns the club, informed the management of the specified budget, at a time when significant changes are expected within the team, with the contracts of Yann Sommer, Matteo Darmian, Acerbi, and Stefan de Vrij ending next June.

The newspaper added that the future of Alessandro Bastoni will be a crucial factor in determining the team's defensive strategy, amid interest from Barcelona in signing him, although no official offer has been made yet, as confirmed by President Beppe Marotta.

In the context of defensive transfers, the Italian newspaper pointed out Inter's link to signing Giovanni Leone, a Liverpool defender who previously worked under Cristian Chivu at Parma.

It also clarified that Sassuolo has agreed to a deal with Tarik Muharremovic, but negotiations between the clubs are still not advanced.

In midfield, the newspaper confirmed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a candidate to leave at the end of his contract in June, while Inter is monitoring Liverpool's Curtis Jones.

The club has also identified Tottenham's goalkeeper Vicario as the first option to replace Yann Sommer.

Inter Milan and coach Cristian Chivu may look to reshape the team with a four-man defensive plan, with Marco Balestra, an Atalanta player loaned to Cagliari, as a primary target due to his ability to play as a full-back or winger.

Inter Milan still hopes to sign young Argentine player Nico Paz, despite expectations of his return to Real Madrid after the current season ends with Como.
