Paris Loses Hakimi Against Bayern Munich in Champions League Semi-Final Second Leg
Tuesday 05-05-2026
Paris Saint-Germain announced the absence of one of its key players, the Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi, from the anticipated second leg match against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

The Parisian club revealed its official squad for the match to be held in Munich, as they aim to maintain their advantage after winning the first leg 5-4, in what was described as one of the most thrilling matches of the tournament. However, Hakimi's absence is a significant blow to the coaching staff.

The Moroccan full-back suffered a severe muscle cramp in the final minutes of the first leg, as confirmed by Spanish coach Luis Enrique during the press conference, which led to his absence from the decisive second leg.

The list of absentees also includes Lucas Chevalier and Quentin Nganto, despite their presence with the team's delegation traveling to Germany to support their teammates from the stands.

Hakimi's injury is significantly impactful on Paris Saint-Germain's system, given his prominent role on the right flank, where he formed a strong duo with Portuguese Nuno Mendes, combining defensive effectiveness and offensive support.

Enrique is expected to seek alternative solutions to compensate for the absences, possibly resorting to changing the tactical setup as happened against Lorient, or deploying Warren Zaïre-Emery in the right-back position, with the possibility of Spanish Fabian Ruiz returning to the midfield.

These absences put the coaching staff to a tough test in the second leg, as Paris Saint-Germain seeks to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League final and continue their continental journey.
