Bastoni Disappoints Barcelona
Monday 04-05-2026
The Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni has disappointed FC Barcelona, as he has not yet shown enough pressure to facilitate his departure from Inter. The Spanish club was relying on greater cooperation from the player and his entourage to bring perspectives closer in the negotiations.

Bastoni won the Italian league title with Inter after starting in the match that ended with his team's 2-0 victory over Parma, securing the title. He also received significant praise from his team's fans.

According to "Corriere dello Sport," Barcelona was waiting for a clearer stance from the player during this period, by expressing his desire to transfer in order to pressure Inter to lower their financial demands. However, this did not happen, despite some indications that he preferred to wait until the league title was decided before making a move.

Bastoni is under contract with Inter until 2028, while the Italian club maintains a strong stance in negotiations, seeking to obtain at least 60 million euros for his sale.

In this context, the sporting director of Inter confirmed that no offers have been received for the player, emphasizing his importance to the team and Italian football, and the club's desire for him to continue.

Barcelona has prioritized Bastoni in the transfer market, while also considering alternative options like Tottenham's Cristian Romero. However, the Catalan club remains committed to trying to complete the deal, potentially including a player to reduce the financial cost, as they prepare to initiate official talks soon.
