Dorgo Responds to Amorim's Criticisms: It Affected Me but Made Me Stronger

The Manchester United player, Danish Patrick Dorgo, revealed that he was deeply affected by the criticism directed at him by former Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim during his time at Old Trafford, before his dismissal last January.

Amorim had stated after a loss to Everton that "tension shows on Dorgo every time he touches the ball," words that the player described as having "affected him."

Durgo said he felt upset by those statements, especially since they came at a time when the team was generally experiencing a decline in performance. He added that any criticism from the coach leaves a psychological impact on the player, but he tried to turn that into motivation to develop himself and improve his performance on the field.

The young player explained that he began gradually regaining his form before Amorim's departure, especially with his participation in matches due to the absence of several teammates in the Africa Cup of Nations, which gave him the opportunity to play with greater confidence and find his rhythm within the team.

Dorgo also praised the period of working under the new coaching staff led by Michael Carrick, affirming that he tried to build on his renewed confidence before suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him since January, following the Arsenal match in which he scored a goal.
