Spanish press reports revealed that the English star Marcus Rashford, a Barcelona player, presented himself as an influential attacking option on the right side, despite being accustomed to playing on the left wing, during the recent match against Osasuna in the Spanish League.

According to the newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo,' Rashford repeated what he did against Getafe, after participating in the second half instead of Rony Bardghji, whom coach Hans Flick relied on to compensate for the absence of the injured Lamine Yamal.

Rashford appeared influential, as he assisted Robert Lewandowski's leading goal in the 2-1 victory over Osasuna, after delivering multiple crosses with direct attacking vision, confirming his ability to play in more than one attacking position.

Rashford, 28, prefers playing on the left side, benefiting from his ability to penetrate towards the center and shoot with his right foot. He has also occasionally participated as a central forward to exploit his speed, but his appearances on the right side were limited due to Lamine Yamal's presence in this position.

Barcelona was aware of the possibility of relying on Rashford on the right wing, especially during Yamal's absence, an idea that previously emerged in the 2022/2023 season when Rashford faced the Catalan team wearing Manchester United's jersey in the Europa League.

During that encounter, Rashford started on the left wing before moving to the right side in the second half, where he scored a goal and assisted another, contributing to a 2-2 draw, before participating as a central forward in the return match that ended with Manchester United's 2-1 victory, eliminating Barcelona from the tournament.

Despite Rony Bardghji's clear talent, he was unable to break free from close marking, which boosts Rashford's chances to appear as a starter on the right side during the upcoming El Clasico match.

Rashford's future with Barcelona remains unresolved, given the difficulty in reaching a final agreement with Manchester United to purchase his contract for 30 million euros, but his ability to shine in both wing positions represents an important element that may support his continuation with the team in the upcoming period.
