Inter Milan Reopens File to Sign Curtis Jones
Italian press reports revealed that Inter Milan is planning a new attempt to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones in the upcoming period, following their previous attempt in the last winter transfer window.
According to 'Football Italia', Inter Milan had identified Jones as an ideal option to replace Italian midfielder Davide Frattesi, who was close to moving to Nottingham Forest in January.
The report added that the deal was set to be a loan with an option to buy for about 40 million euros at the end of the season, but the inability to reach an agreement on extending the player's contract with Liverpool prevented it from being completed at that time.
The report pointed out that Curtis Jones' contract with Liverpool runs until June 2027, which means his contractual situation is still open, with the possibility of Inter making a new offer to purchase him permanently for a lower value.
The same source explained that the 25-year-old player has given his preliminary approval to move to San Siro, awaiting the two clubs to agree on the final details of the deal.
In the same context, the report indicated that Davide Frattesi is close to leaving Inter again, after suffering from a lack of participation under coach Cristian Chivu, a situation that also persisted during the tenure of former coach Simone Inzaghi.
Curtis Jones is a graduate of Liverpool's academy, and this season he has played 45 official matches with the first team, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
