Wydad Athletic Club officially announced in a statement its amicable separation from coach Patrice Carteron, following an agreement between the two parties to terminate the contract that had been binding them in the past period.

The club stated: "Wydad Athletic Club announces to its loyal fans and all components of the club that it has decided to amicably part ways with coach Patrice Carteron, who was in charge of coaching the first team."

It added: "In this context, the club announces the appointment of Mohamed Benchrifa as the new coach of the first team until the end of the current sports season."

Benchrifa will be assisted by a technical staff comprising: Youssef Achami as assistant coach, Idriss Wajoo as a physical trainer, and Tarek Jermouni as the goalkeepers' coach.
