Juliano Simeone Approaches His 100th Match with Atlético Madrid
Saturday 25-04-2026
Atletico Madrid is preparing to face Athletic Bilbao this Saturday evening at the Metropolitano Stadium, as part of the Spanish League competition, in a match that marks a significant event in the career of one of the team's players.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Argentine forward Giuliano Simeone will reach his 100th match in an Atlético Madrid jersey if he participates in the game, while still being only 23 years old, thus achieving an early milestone in his professional career.

Giuliano Simeone is considered one of the most prominent players in the first team at present, as he will receive a commemorative plaque in the club's centurion players' corridor. This is pending the reorganization of this landmark to become the Legends Corridor, based on criteria that do not solely depend on the number of matches.

This achievement came in a short period, as the player accomplished it in his third season with the first team, which is actually his second full season, after his appearance in the 2021/2022 season was limited to just one match.

Within a period of almost two seasons, Simeone succeeded in reaching 100 matches, despite initially joining the first team as an option on the squad list, before proving himself through his performance and effort.

The player's statistics for the current season reflect his remarkable development, having played 48 matches, 41 of which he started, participating for over 3,500 minutes, scoring seven goals, and providing eight assists.

Giuliano surpassed his father, Diego Simeone, in this regard. Diego joined Atlético Madrid in June 1994, coming from Sevilla, and was 24 years old at the time, which is a year older than his son's current age.

Giuliano also excelled in terms of reaching this number quickly, as his father reached his 100th match with Atletico in the middle of the 1996/1997 season, against Rayo Vallecano in January 1997, two and a half years after joining the club.

Despite this superiority, Juliano still needs to improve his scoring numbers to match what his father achieved, who played 172 official matches with Atlético Madrid, scoring 30 goals and providing six assists. Meanwhile, Juliano currently has 13 goals and 17 assists.
