Manchester United Targets Tottenham Defender
Thursday 23-04-2026
The Athletic newspaper revealed that Manchester United has identified Tottenham defender, Dutchman Micky van de Ven, as one of its main targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.

This comes as Tottenham is nearing the risk of relegation to the Championship, following a decline in their results this season and entering the danger zone, being two points away from safety, without securing any wins in the Premier League in 2026 so far.

According to the report, Tottenham is experiencing a period of technical instability following consecutive changes in the coaching staff, before hiring De Zerbi in an attempt to save the team from relegation.

The same source indicated that if Tottenham were to be relegated, the club might see the departure of several of its stars, with Micky van de Ven being one of the most prominent candidates, especially given his market value is estimated at around 65 million euros.

Manchester United believes that signing the Dutch defender would be an important addition to their defense line, given the need to strengthen this position before the new season, although completing the deal may require a large budget.
