Real Madrid Open to Lunin's Departure
Thursday 23-04-2026
Media reports have revealed that Real Madrid does not oppose the departure of their Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin during the upcoming summer transfer window, despite his contract with the team running until 2030.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that the management of the Royal Club is showing flexibility in facilitating Lunin's departure, despite having four years remaining on his contract, due to his desire to play matches regularly.

The Ukrainian goalkeeper had attracted the interest of several clubs in the past periods, and he is expected to receive new offers as the summer transfer window approaches.

Lunin is 27 years old and is seeking an opportunity to play regularly, which seems difficult given the presence of the main goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, in the ranks of Real Madrid.

Although the club plans to sign a future replacement for Courtois, who is 33 years old, Lunin is not considered the closest option to take on this role in the upcoming phase.

Lunin participated in 10 matches with Real Madrid this season across various competitions, conceding 20 goals.
