A New Step by Barcelona to Achieve Millions in Profits
Monday 20-04-2026
Barcelona Club officially announced its entry into the product resale market by launching an official channel dedicated to remarketing its jerseys and products, in a step aimed at exploiting the significant growth in the used goods market and generating new revenues, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport'.

This initiative came after reaching a strategic agreement with the company Drelive and in cooperation with Barcelona Licensing and Marketing to organize a market that has long been outside the club's control and without any direct financial returns for it.

The report explained that the resale of Barcelona jerseys, which represent a collective memory spanning generations, was done through unofficial channels without guarantees related to authenticity or quality. The new project aims to reclaim this market by providing an official platform that ensures product documentation, quality, and traceability.

According to the details, the Barcelona Innovation Hub played a pivotal role in this step, having entered as an investor partner in Drelive, which specializes in circular economy solutions in the retail sector. Thus, the company has become part of the club's technological ecosystem, as one of the companies joining its investment portfolio.

The executive role of the project will be undertaken by Barcelona Licensing and Marketing, which will operate the new channel as a direct extension of the club's official store, giving Barcelona the ability to fully control the resale process, as well as benefit from data related to user behavior, such as purchasing patterns, collector interests, and demand for specific products.

In this context, the report pointed out that the global market for sports product resale is witnessing rapid growth at double-digit rates, generating billions of euros annually, despite clubs' absence from this field so far. Barcelona seeks to change this with this initiative that opens up a new source of sustainable income.

Ángel Riudalbás, head of the Barcelona Innovation Hub, confirmed that the project represents a pioneering step in the sports sector, explaining that it will contribute to opening new economic horizons for the club and improving the efficiency and profitability of its retail system.

For his part, the CEO of Drelive emphasized the importance of this partnership, considering it an opportunity to build an innovative model that can reshape the relationship between clubs and their commercial assets.

With this step, Barcelona continues to develop its commercial strategy by integrating circular economy concepts, strengthening its relationship with its fans, and solidifying its position as one of the clubs striving to lead modern transformations in the sports industry.
