Barcelona Club continues its moves to sign the Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni, player of Inter Milan, during the upcoming transfer period, as part of its efforts to strengthen the defense line after the departure of Iñigo Martínez to Al-Nassr Saudi Club, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport'.

Bastoni, who is 27 years old, is considered the primary target for Barcelona's management to support the center-back position, as the management believes he possesses the required specifications, both in terms of defensive solidity and his ability to build play from the back, which aligns with the team's style.

According to the same source, negotiations are still in their initial stages, with communications so far limited to representatives from both clubs, without official meetings between the administrations. The player is under contract with Inter Milan until 2028, making it necessary to reach an agreement to complete the deal.

The main obstacle lies in the financial value, as Inter Milan values the player at about 70 million euros, an amount Barcelona cannot currently afford, prompting the Catalan club to consider including players in the deal to reduce the cost.

On the other hand, Barcelona holds an important card in Bastoni's desire to experience a new challenge, as the player is open to moving to a team with an ambitious project and the ability to compete in the UEFA Champions League in the coming years.

Meanwhile, the Italian defender is experiencing a difficult situation with his country's fans, as he faces boos during matches following an incident of feigning a red card against Juventus, despite his apology to Pierre Kalulu, in addition to his dismissal in the match against Bosnia in the playoffs, which intensified the criticism, especially after Italy's national team failed to qualify for the World Cup for the third consecutive time.

Despite Inter Milan's interest in retaining Bastoni, Barcelona is considering including some names in the deal, with Gerard Martin being a suitable option for the Italian club. However, Barcelona's sports management refuses to part with him, especially after recently renewing his contract with a release clause of 100 million euros, in addition to his ability to play both as a center-back and left-back.

Conversely, Roni Bardghji might be closer to leaving, given his limited playing time under coach Hans Flick, as the Swedish player possesses great potential but has been the subject of interest from several European clubs in the past period. His market value has risen to 15 million euros after joining Barcelona for only two million euros, making him a suitable element in any exchange deal.

Inter Milan is also considering strengthening the goalkeeper position, given the advanced age of goalkeeper Yann Sommer, with Aaron Jakubovic, on loan to Endora in the Spanish second division, among their interests.
