Real Sociedad club has been crowned Copa del Rey champions after their victory over Atletico Madrid in a penalty shootout, following a 2-2 draw after regular and extra time, in the final match held at La Cartuja Stadium.

Real Sociedad started the match strongly, opening the scoring early in the first minute through Ander Barrenetxea, giving his team an early advantage.

Atletico Madrid managed to get back into the game, with Ademola Lookman scoring the equalizer in the 19th minute, before Real Sociedad took the lead again in the 45+1 minute through Mikel Oyarzabal from a penalty kick.

In the second half, Atletico Madrid managed to equalize once more, with Julian Alvarez scoring the second goal for his team in the 83rd minute, leveling the score at 2-2.

The draw persisted through extra time without a change in the score, leading the teams to a penalty shootout, which favored Real Sociedad with a 4-3 victory, securing the title and winning the Copa del Rey for the fourth time in their history.
