Former Al-Ahly Star Defends Mahmoud El-Khatib
Ikrami El-Shahat, the former Al-Ahly star, defended Mahmoud El-Khatib, the current club president, following recent criticism against him.
Al Ahly bid farewell to the Egypt Cup, the CAF Champions League, and the Cairo Cup, and the Reds are in third place in the league standings with 44 points.
Ikrami said on the "El Le3ib" program on MBC Masr channel: "There is a fierce attack on Mahmoud El-Khatib as the president of Al Ahly Club, and it's not appropriate to speak like that about a name like El-Khatib. People forget his achievements with Al Ahly."
He added: "People shouldn't forget this; there are certainly technical and administrative failures, but they are currently being corrected."
He continued: "Attacking Al-Khatib in this manner is something I do not accept, and no one should accept."
