Zamalek Qualifies for Confederation Cup Final with Goalless Draw Against Belouizdad
Zamalek coach Moatamed Gamal spoke about his team's qualification for the final of the African Confederation Cup after a goalless draw against CR Belouizdad in the second leg of the tournament's semi-final.
The White team qualified for the tournament final by drawing 0-0 with Algeria's CR Belouizdad in the match held at Cairo International Stadium in the second leg of the tournament's semi-final, benefiting from their 1-0 victory in the first leg.
Mu'tamid Jamal said that today's match against the Algerian team was as difficult as expected.
He added in the press conference after the match: "We had many opportunities in the first half, and there was a disallowed goal. The most important thing is achieving the goal and qualifying for the final match."
He continued: "I urge Zamalek fans not to be upset about not winning today's match. I had hoped for a better performance and for us to achieve victory, but in the end, we qualified for the final."
He continued: "Juan Bezerra is in good condition, and the opposing team imposed tight marking on him in today's match. The victory we achieved in the first leg made our task of qualifying for the final easier."
He added: "The semi-final and final matches don't see many opportunities due to the caution of both teams. Zamalek was better in the first half and there were no chances for the opposing team, while the second half saw some opportunities for CR Belouizdad, but Zamalek defended well, achieved the goal, and qualified for the final match."
