Smouha Demands Resolution of Controversy Over Penalty in Match Against Al-Ahly
Friday 17-04-2026
The newspaper "Al-Youm Al-Sabea" revealed that the board of directors of Smouha Club has contacted the Football Association and the referees committee again, demanding a swift resolution of the official complaint regarding the refereeing errors in the team's recent match against Al-Ahly in the Premier League.

The newspaper explained that this move reflects the Alexandrian club's anger over what it described as "blatant refereeing injustice," demanding a technical explanation for the non-awarding of a penalty that clearly affected the outcome of the match against Al Ahly.

She added that Smouha's complaint included an official objection to the decisions of the refereeing team and the video assistant referee, with a demand to reveal the details of the conversation that took place in the VAR room during that incident.

The management emphasized its commitment to the club's rights, considering the delay in response as a breach of the principle of transparency, especially during a critical stage of the league where losing points due to refereeing errors is unacceptable.

Al Ahly secured a 2-1 victory over Smouha last Saturday in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League's championship stage.
