Flick Postpones Transfer File Meeting in Barcelona
Friday 17-04-2026
According to reports published by 'Mundo Deportivo', Barcelona coach Hans Flick has decided to postpone any meeting regarding the transfer file until after officially securing the La Liga title.

According to the same source, a meeting was expected between Flick, sporting director Deco, club president Joan Laporta, and the rest of the sports committee to finalize the deals for the next season. However, the German coach requested its postponement.

The report indicated that Flick refuses to hold any transfer summit before ensuring the La Liga victory, despite Barcelona leading the standings by 9 points over Real Madrid, with only 7 rounds remaining in the season.

The source explained that the German coach aims to avoid any impact of the transfer file on the locker room atmosphere or players' focus, so he preferred to delay the discussion of summer deals until the competition ends.

The report also mentioned that Flick and Deco have already outlined the plan for the next season, but the final decision on the list of departures and arrivals will be postponed until after securing the title.

The technical staff granted the players two days off after exiting the Champions League, with the team set to resume training in preparation for facing Celta Vigo at Spotify Camp Nou.

According to the probable scenario, if Barcelona and Real Madrid's results continue without setbacks until the El Clasico, the La Liga title decision could be delayed until May 10, meaning the transfer file meeting might not be held before May 11 or 12.
